ELECTRUM DUO - Lecture Recitals
LECTURE RECITAL: THE MUSIC OF INGOLF DAHL
Recent university and young people's recitals featured an in-depth look at the chamber music of Ingolf Dahl. The Duo presented several lecture recitals based on his “Duettino Concertante.” The performances included a detailed analysis of the compositional elements of the work as well as the technical demands required of the performers. Lectures were tailored to the experience and interests of each audience. The Duo's children's concerts emphasized Dahl's use of register, melodic and rhythmic imitation, unique timbres and musical form. Undergraduate-level university recitals thoroughly examined compositional elements including melodic and rhythmic analysis, twelve-tone rows, musical form and extended techniques. The series concluded with a formal recital followed by a visit to the recording studio which produced a unique recording of Duettino Concertante.
